City by the Bay or Sin City?

I've been working on The 7th Relic (I made a commitment and this book will get done), but in the meantime have been looking at locales for Alorn and Mellis' spin off.  I've narrowed it from six locales (Oahu, New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, San Diego, and Maine...yes, Maine), down to two: San Francisco and Las Vegas.

I lived in the Bay Area for over 10 years before moving to Las Vegas, so I know both areas very well.  It's a tough one, both would give great backgrounds for the series.

San Francisco
San Francisco has the advantage of the ocean on one side and the mountains on the other; and connected to its surrounding regions by safety pins called bridges, its most famous being the Golden Gates Bridge.  You have the coastline that can take our heroes to picturesque small towns searching for the UnderRealm escapees, bringing adventures in scenic doses.

Las Vegas
Las Vegas, the city where things happen and remain within the city walls unless of course those who want it be known what their "visits" were like bombard their doings on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit and whatever other social media means they can get their hands on...*whew*.  But there is so much more to the land of dry heat than just the Strip, although a majority of events ALWAYS happen on the Strip.  The outskirts of Vegas is peppered with desert towns aching to be visited by UnderRealm cruelty, just waiting for our heroes to make a unexpected pit stop.

Let me know your thoughts, here or on Facebook.  I'd like to know which you'd prefer.

Until next time, good reading to all.
